Two aspiring England fly-halves will duel at Welford Road on Saturday when Leicester and Sale collide in the Aviva Premiership.
Shortly before the Red Rose contest the Calcutta Cup against Scotland at Murrayfield, Danny Cipriani and Freddie Burns will be hoping to prove there are alternatives to George Ford and Owen Farrell.
Cipriani was a late omission from last autumn's World Cup squad and has not been selected by new England head coach Eddie Jones subsequently, while Burns' last involvement was the summer tour to New Zealand in 2014.
"Freddie and Cipriani are very different personalities," Leicester director of rugby Richard Cockerill said.
"Freddie has joined us and wants to improve and work hard, and he's obviously a little bit younger than Danny as well.
"But Danny's a great player, he's done exceptionally well since he came back from Australia and gone to Sale.
"That fit is very good for him and he's playing very well. Sale are not as good a side without him.
"Freddie's been working hard for us though. They are not dissimilar players in many regards, they like to take the ball to the line, they like to take risks and have a crack and enjoy what they are doing. And they are both very good players."
Burns has won five caps and Cockerill insists he has not given up hope of playing for England once again.
"Freddie has been involved with England in recent times and he plays in a side in the top four," Cockerill said.
"He's been doing some good things, he's just got to keep working hard and see where he gets to.
"Freddie's far from given up on his international ambitions. If he keeps doing what he's doing, and tidies one or two bits of his game up, he could have an opportunity."
In Saturday's other fixtures, Harlequins host Northampton and Newcastle travel to Wasps.
