Bristol have announced the signing of former Wasps and Worcester hooker Edd Shervington on a short-term contract.

Shervington, 31, moves to the Aviva Premiership club until the end of next month, providing injury cover.

Bristol are currently without hookers Marc Jones, Max Crumpton and Ross McMillan, leaving only Chris Brooker and Rob Hawkins in that department.

"After the injury to Ross, we acted quickly to ensure we had cover in the hooker position. Ross will be unavailable for up to six months," Bristol rugby director Andy Robinson told www.bristolrugby.co.uk.

"Edd was available and lives relatively locally, so it suits us as a short-term solution.

"With Anglo-Welsh Cup rugby and Aviva Premiership fixtures in November, it's important we have the numbers to compete."
