Recently relegated Biarritz have re-signed former hooker Benjamin Noirot for a year, with an option to a further year, the club said Wednesday.
Biarritz were relegated from the Top 14 on March 22 following a 16-10 defeat by Perpignan.
Noirot, 33, played for the Basques from 2005 to 2009, winning the Top 14 title in 2006.
His second optional year is based on Biarritz coming back up from the second division at the first attempt.
Noirot, who won one cap for France in 2010 against Fiji, is currently at European champions Toulon, having joined them from Racing Metro, where he spent four years after leaving Biarritz.
He becomes the Basques' second new recruit for next season following that of Scottish international centre Nick De Luca, who will join from Edinburgh.
