England completed a stunning series whitewash of Australia after dispatching the Wallabies 44-40 at Allianz Stadium.
Here Press Association Sport examines five things we have learned from the three-Test tour.
1. Up to second
When Eddie Jones took over the Twickenham coaching reins, England were ranked eighth in the world. By the time Australia had fallen to a remarkable defensive display in Melbourne, only New Zealand were positioned higher. It is a fine achievement and a true reflection of where they sit in the global pecking order.
2. All Blacks on notice
Steve Hansen's world champions comfortably remain the powerhouse of the game, but they will have noted events in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney with interest. They will have seen an England team guided by a shrewd man-manager and master tactician and armed with a snarling pack and deadly goal-kicker. A meaningful challenge to their world crown could be in the making.
3but plenty to work on
Even after Australia had been defeated in Sydney, sealing the 3-0 rout Down Under, Jones was not satisfied. He sees the inconsistencies from game to game in attack, defence and set-piece and knows there is work to be done. The only constant has been the results - nine wins from nine in his reign to date.
4. Farrell approaching world class.
Undoubtedly the best goal-kicker in the game at the moment, Owen Farrell's accuracy from the tee is a menace to all rival nations. He is improving all the time as a playmaker, while his temperament is that of a big-game player who is at his best when England need him most.
5?.as is Billy
After a solid but unspectacular opening two Tests, at Allianz Stadium Billy Vunipola exploded back into the bulldozing form witnessed during the RBS 6 Nations. Jones rates him highly, knowing his best years lie ahead.
