The best tech adverts from the Super Bowl

While the game itself was a quite incredible finale – one of the highlights of each year’s showpiece NFL game is the adverts.

Costing up to $4.5 million (£3 million) for a 30-second slot, Super Bowl commercials have a tradition of being memorable, wacky, star-studded affairs.

This year we were also delighted to see an abundance of technology ads, so here’s our favourites.

Game of War

For something advertising an app this is pretty epic.

BMW

This one is just funny for the early ’90s confusion over what the internet actually is.

T-Mobile Data Stash

Not only is this a good idea in that it lets you save the data you don’t use each month, but Kim Kardashian parodying herself is also worth seeing.

Go Daddy

Budweiser nailed the puppy-goes-on-epic-journey storyline with their Super Bowl ad. However, the twist that domain site Go Daddy put in theirs means it just shades it for us.

Microsoft

Microsoft went big during the Super Bowl. The firm already has a deal in place with teams that sees their Surface tablets used pitch-side, and there were several long, lingering shots of them in action. This was the first of two big ads the firm ran during the Patriots victory over the Seahawks.

Clash of Clans

There have been so many of these ads on TV recently you’d be forgiven for skipping it. But don’t, for two reasons: Liam. Neeson. Although we’re not sure why the ad appears twice in the video.

Kia

This one gets an inclusion just for the Brosnan-related Bond nostalgia.

Mophie

Mophie has some very good products but we didn’t expect a Super Bowl ad from them. As it happens, it’s a very good one for their charging cases.
