Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha has been discussing a clash he had with former Manchester United and Sheffield United midfielder Ravel Morrison back in 2013.

The pair were involved in a confrontation on international duty during a game between England's Under-21s and their Lithuanian counterparts.

Morrison turned in a dazzling performance that night, scoring twice as the Young Lions ran out 5-0 winners, and the altercation took place as the pair were walking back towards their own half after the visitors were awarded a goal kick.

During a recent edition of the 'On The Judy Podcast, Zaha - who has since switched international allegiances to the Ivory Coast - said: "[Morrison] was just getting me mad. He was moving like he was Ronaldinho and the rest of us were just no-one.

“He was getting the ball and he was just doing tricks and the only time he passes it [is] if he really needs to.

“We're just stood there with our hands on our hips while he's going past six Lithuanian players, and it's just like 'what are you doing?’.

“It was that easy - the team that we had, we had such good players and we can all do that, we can all hog the ball and go past all of them but we're not doing it. We're trying to be professional, play properly but he was just on his own thing.

“I just had enough, I was like ‘what are you doing?' and out of the blue he just pushed me. I'm like ‘are you dumb?’ so I pushed him back and it was just nonsense on the pitch, then when you go inside the man is silent.”

Once regarded as one of English football's biggest talents,Morrison left Man Utd to sign for West Ham in 2012, but after a number of loan spells, he was released in 2015.

Since then, he has represented a number of clubs including Lazio, QPR, Atlas, Ostersunds, Middlesbrough, Sheffield United and ADO Den Haag.

To find himself without a club at the age of 28 is a real shame, but it's probably fair to say his failure to fulfil his potential has not been due to a lack of talent.
