Rotterdam Wanting Another Tour De France Grand Depart

The Dutch city of Rotterdam expressed it's interest to ASO in staging another Grand Depart of the Tour De France. "We are going for it ," said Alderman Sven de Langen (public health, care, elderly and sports) to RTV Rijnmond. "We want in 2023, 2024 or 2025 quite like the Grand Départ of the Tour de France."They last held the Grand Depart in 2010 with an 8.9km time trial won by Fabian Cancellera, which attracted visitors to the city of over one million to a country which hah Utrecht hosting the start of the race in 2015, Amsterdam (1954), Scheveningen (1973), Leiden (1978) and Den Bosch (1996). Rotterdam is looking for a Grand Depart in 2023, 2024 or 2025 and Van Langen added: "As far as I am concerned, there is no doubt that the Erasmus bridge again in the race course should be included.  "Our city is ideally suited for this kind of major international events. However, not only do we want to. For these events we are looking for cooperation with the other major cities in the country and with the areas around us. We want these events in all of Netherlands. "The 2019 race will start in Brussels, as a tribute to Eddy Merckx and the 50 years since the Belgian won his first Tour De France .
