Arsenal midfielder Mattéo Guendouzi has once again been called up to the France squad for their final two Euro 2020 qualifiers, as a last-minute replacement for injured Juventus midfielder Blaise Matuidi.
Guendouzi was called up to the senior side for the first time last month after injury forced Paul Pogba to pull out, but didn't manage a debut as the world champions edged towards qualification for Euro 2020.
With Pogba still unavailable, many expected the 20-year-old to be called up once again in his stead, but the Arsenal star - who has started every league game for the Gunners this season - was left out of Didier Deschamps initial 23.
However, after Matuidi was forced off with 20 minutes remaining in Juve's narrow 1-0 victory over Milan, lightning has struck twice for Guendouzi, who is once again called in as a late replacement.
The news was broken by France's official outlets earlier on Monday, and comes as another reward for the midfielder's fine form at club level - even if the team around him is flattering to deceive.
The Gunners' defeat to Leicester at the weekend made it five games in all competitions without a win, having failed to register a victory since their 3-2 win over Vitoria at the end of October.
Since then, they have drawn two and lost one of their league matches, while exiting the Carabao Cup in dramatic fashion at the hands of Liverpool while dropping points to Vitoria in the reverse fixture in Portugal.
They will be looking to put that right when they return to league action against Southampton in two weeks time, but Guendouzi will be firmly focused on the prospect of an international debut for the time being, with France taking on Moldova and Albania as they look to get qualification over the line.
