Leicester Among Host of Premier League Clubs Linked With Reading Captain Liam Moore

Reading skipper Liam Moore is being linked with a move to the Premier League with former club Leicester one of the sides interested.

The Royals have made an excellent start to the season, mainly thanks to their excellent defensive record. Veljko Paunovic's side have only conceded once so far, winning six of their opening seven league games.

Their fine start has not gone unnoticed with several top flight clubs sniffing around Reading's backline. One such player is Moore, who according to TeamTalk could make a shock return to the Foxes in January.

The 27-year-old left his boyhood side in 2016 and has since carved out a fine career at the Madejski Stadium, scooping the club's player of the year award during his second season. Despite bringing in St. Etienne defender Wesley Fofana earlier this month, Leicester could still do with some defensive reinforcements.

Wes Morgan is set to retire at the end of the campaign and the likes of Wilfred Ndidi and Daniel Amartey have both been shoehorned into the back four recently due to injuries. However, Leicester will face competition to capture Moore.

West Ham, Wolves, Crystal Palace, Southampton and Newcastle are all also keeping close tabs on the former England Under-21 international.

Meanwhile, Reading full-back Omar Richards could also be on his way out of the club. The 22-year-old has played in all seven of the Royals' league games so far and is in the final year of his contract.

It is understood that as many as six Premier League clubs have sent scouts to watch the left-back in preparation for a January bid. Richards is one of the most highly rated players in the Reading squad but the Royals may be tempted into selling him over fears of losing the defender for free next year.
