It was Birmingham’s sixth straight defeat in all competitions and they have won one game since the start of the season. It was the former Tottenham manager’s 13th game in charge.The 70-year-old Redknapp took over on a temporary basis at St Andrew’s with three games remaining last season after Gianfranco Zola’s resignation. Having guided the club to safety on the final day of the campaign – City won their last two games – Redknapp signed a one-year contract in May.
