Mitchelton-Scott’s
Grace Brown took the win on Stage Three of the Santos Women’s Tour Down Under.
Mitchelton-Scott’s Amanda Spratt was in
the ochre jersey, Her team mate Sarah Roy in the Sprint blue jersey and
Quagliotto in the QOM jersey for this 104.5km stage from Nairne to Stirling which
was now down to eighty-one riders.
Through the German town of Hahndorf, which hosted
the stage one start and the peloton was altogether but hitting speeds of
60km/h.
ALE’s Chloe Hosking took the opening sprint with
49kms to go ahead of Jackson and Roy.
Riabchenko and Frazer from the New Zealand team managed
to get away going into the first QOM climb but after Riabchenko was first over
the top ahead of the QOM leader, the peloton brought them back to the fold.
Rebecca Wasiak and Berteau were the next to attack
as the stage headed toward Chapel Hill with thirty kilometres left.
Jackson took the next sprint ahead of Roy and the
race leader Amanda Spratt before the race was neutralised after a mis-direction
before recommencing on Avenue Road in Stirling.
There were a couple of attempts at getting away but
going under the flam rouge and the peloton were altogether as Grace Brown from
Mitchelton-Scott took the win in 3.01.07, two seconds ahead of Winder from Trek
and Neylan.
Amanda Spratt finished fifth to keep her ochre jersey.
