Europa League updates from the 8pm GMT kick-offEmail Nick or get in touch via Twitter @NickAmes82 7.55pm GMT Meanwhile, kick-off is imminent here! The lights have been dimmed and they’re going through an impassioned rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone. The teams will be out in a few moments, and then we’ll get going. 7.49pm GMT Rangers hit the post in injury time but have lost 4-3 in Moscow – so Celtic fans’ evenings have, I’m guessing, started satisfactorily. 7.47pm GMT Anyone want to fire back a defence of Brendan Rodgers’ European record? You have 13 minutes. 7.39pm GMT An email from Wolfgang!“Rodgers’ record in Europe with both Celtic and Liverpool is atrocious! He was brought to Celtic with much fanfare and the broad announcement by the club that his mandate was to take Celtic ‘further in Europe’. Evidently no one on the Celtic board ever watched one of Rodgers feeble efforts in Europe while at Liverpool. First English club out of the Champions League and then immediately the same season first English club out of the Europa League. And that was with Suarez. No surprise Celtic are struggling in Europe.” 7.38pm GMT A reminder that Celtic, if they lose, would go six points shy of second place with two games left – almost certainly too big a gap to make up, although they do face Rosenborg next while the top dogs slug it out so there’d be a fair chance of them staying alive until the final day. 7.22pm GMT Chelsea are also ongoing against BATE Borisov. Olivier Giroud has scored! They’re a goal up and John Brewin has it *live* for you: Related: Bate Borisov v Chelsea: Europa League – live! 7.18pm GMT Rangers are now 4-3 down. They were 3-2 up a few minutes ago! 7.15pm GMT In the meantime, Rangers are drawing 3-3 at Spartak Moscow! That is quite the turnup. I’ll keep you posted on how that thriller winds up. 7.12pm GMT Celtic: Gordon, Lustig, Benkovic, Boyata, Tierney, McGregor, Christie, Rogic, Forrest, Sinclair, Edouard. Subs: Bain, Hendry, Hayes, Morgan, Mulumbu, Ajer, Ralston.RB Leipzig: Mvogo, Mukiele, Orban, Upamecano, Laimer, Ilsanker, Sabitzer, Augustin, Bruma, Cunha. Subs: Muller, Konate, Klostermann, Halstenberg, Demme, Majetschak, Kampl. 6.55pm GMT Celtic badly need one of their famous European nights here. That’s the long and short of it: this evening it’s definitely a must-not-lose against RB Leipzig, who sit three points ahead of them in second place, and the reality is that they could really do with a win if they want their Europa League destiny to sit firmly in their own hands. It won’t be easy. They were beaten 2-0 in Leipzig a couple of weeks ago and, having also been tonked 3-1 away from from home by Red Bull Salzburg, will be pretty relieved to be back at Celtic Park. Successive 5-0 wins domestically, the most recent against surprise leaders Hearts, should mean spirits are high – so now’s the time for Brendan Rodgers and company to get themselves out of trouble with the standard of opposition turned up a notch.
