Former player David Lloyd has launched a withering attack on the current Lawn Tennis Association chief Roger Draper.
Lloyd, who is a former Davis Cup captain and whose brother, John, is the current skipper of a team that was beaten by Lithuania at the weekend, has launched a damning critique on the state of British tennis.
"Where are the male players that the LTA has actually produced? Zero. That's the bottom line," he said. "How do you keep your job if you are failing? I think Roger should walk. I don't see it getting better.
"Andy Murray didn't come from the system because his mother was brave enough to take him out of it. Roger is wrong endorsing the fact that Andy shouldn't have played (in the Davis Cup). That was a bad call.
"I'd try and encourage him to play and give something back to the game. I'd ask him to play against Turkey. We want him to help our young kids. We all owe something to the game."
