The Lawn Tennis Association have dismissed suggestions that Greg Rusedski has already been lined up as a potential replacement for under-fire Davis Cup captain John Lloyd.
Lloyd has admitted he is considering his future after Great Britain crashed to a humiliating 3-2 defeat at the hands of Lithuania in Vilnius over the weekend.
Team GB will drop into the lowest tier of world tennis - the Europe-Africa Zone Group III - should they lose a play-off against Turkey in July.
But despite reports that the LTA have already sounded out former British number one Rusedski for the role, player director Steve Martens insists that no decisions over Lloyd's future have yet been made.
"We have had no direct contact at all (with Rusedski)," he declared.
"I think it would also be very disrespectful to a guy like John to do that when we haven't even finished the tie.
"Greg is a fantastic coach, he works with us, he's fully on board working with some of the male players and John so far has been fully in the loop in everything we do.
"Clearly we have to be swift and decisive. But it is very important that in the heat of the battle you don't do anything emotional.
"We have to be looking at this together with the captain, reviewing where we were with our players, where we were with our selection, where we were with the preparation of the players.
"That is exactly what we'll do over the next few days and the captain will be a full part of that."
