Great Britain ended their Europe-Africa Group 1 Fed Cup campaign with a 2-1 victory over Belarus in Lisbon.

Anne Keothavong set up the victory with a 7-6, 6-1 win over Ekaterina Dzehalevich, clinching her first win since returning from a long-term knee injury.

She said after her success: "I'm glad I got through that and it's nice to get my first win after so long out of the game.

"It is just such a pleasure to be out there on the court - it really is. These are the kinds of matches I need - these next few months are going to be tough for me, but this is a start."

Belarus levelled the tie when Olga Govortsova saw off Katie O'Brien 6-3, 6-3 and they looked on course for victory when Govortsova and Tatiana Poutchek led Sarah Borwell and Elena Baltacha 6-3, 3-0.

However, the British do rallied to secure a 3-6, 7-5, 6-2 win, although hopes of making the play-offs for World Group II had already been ended by defeat to Austria.
