Italy flanker Mauro Bergamasco has been banned for a month after being cited for dangerous play during the Celtic League clash with Ospreys on February 17, the Italian rugby federation (FIR) announced Wednesday.
The Aironi back-row forward will not be allowed to return to action until March 21, which means he will miss the rest of the Six Nations.
He was cited for punching scrum-half Rhys Webb, who had to be taken to hospital after the incident.
Bergamasco only received a yellow card for the incident but was cited for foul play and following Wednesday's Edinburgh-based hearing, which the Italy veteran attended by video-link, he was handed the ban.
