St Helens forward Nick Fozzard has praised Warrington Wolves' new head coach James Lowes ahead of their clash this weekend. Wolves travel to Knowsley Road having won seven of their first eight matches under the charge of Lowes and Fozzard - who is expected to be fit for the first time since severing a knee ligament back in February - says Lowes is proving to be a worthy sucessor to Paul Cullen.

He said: "I have not been surprised by the way Jimmy Lowes has turned it around there.

"I played with him years ago at Leeds and he is a very tough, very smart and very clever man and it has not surprised me that he has turned them around.

"Paul Cullen was very very good for Warrington and I am sorry he had to leave but James Lowes has brought something extra to the team."

Table-toppers Saints have won their last 17 matches and with Warrington also currently producing their best form of the year, Fozzard thinks Saturday night's game will be a classic.

He added: "It is going to be two teams in form going at each other.

"It is at Knowsley Road which will help us because our fans are great but we will need them to get behind us.

"It will be a tough one, a close one and it will be exciting."

Warrington have not beaten St Helens in any competition for three seasons and Fozzard thinks the reason for that is they stress too much about the big occasion.

He said: "I just think we know how to win games more and to do the right things at the right times.

"Maybe warrington put too much ressure on themselves.

"To us its just another big game but maybe it's even bigger for them.

"At Saints, the bigger the game, the more fun we have and pressure does not affect us in a negative way."
