Wigan's O'Loughlin to miss remainder of normal Super League season
Wigan Warriors loose forward Sean O'Loughlin has admitted his regular season looks to be finished. The Warriors captain broke his shoulder blade against Warrington Wolves back in May and says he cannot manage to shake off the problem. And he says with only four games of the regular season left, it is unlikely that he will be featuring again this term, although he is hoping he may be able to have a crack at the play-offs if Wigan manage to qualify in the top six.
THe 25-year-old said: "I need to have another X-ray in two weeks' time and I'll take it from there.
"I'm not going to France this weekend because I've got no chance of playing and in the short-term at least I have to admit that I'm not really too optimistic.
"The injury is slow to heal and it's been a frustrating few months for me."
O'Loughlin did make a comeback against Hull KR in July but suffered a setback and damaged the shoulder again.
He added: "I'm still hoping to play one more Super League game this year, but everything has to go right for me and this time I have to be sure that I'm fully match-fit.
"If not, there are still the play-offs and I will be encouraging the guys all the way to keep a spot warm for me in the top six."
