Scrum-half Conor Murray has been selected ahead of Tomas O'Leary for Ireland's 30-man squad for the upcoming World Cup.
Despite only having a single international cap to his name, Murray has been given the nod after an impressive performance against France in Bordeaux.
Many expected head coach Declan Kidney to select Tomas O'Leary as his No.9 for the World Cup in New Zealand, however the Munster half-back endured a torrid game against Les Bleus last weekend in Dublin and has played himself out of a seat on the plane.
Winger Luke Fitzgerald is another big name to miss out, with utility back Fergus McFadden being selected as cover for a strong Irish backline, which includes captain Brian O'Driscoll.
Ireland will face Australia, Italy, Russia and the USA in their Pool at the upcoming major tournament, with their first game coming against the Eagles on November 11.
