Warren Gatland has recalled winger Leigh Halfpenny and lock Jonathan Thomas into his side for Saturday's Six Nations clash with Scotland at the Millennium Stadium.
The casualties are Tom James and Luke Charteris who, after starting the 30-17 defeat to England, have not been included in the 22-man squad for the match in Cardiff.
Lock Alun Wyn Jones plays despite suggestions he could be dropped after his sin-binning at Twickenham was blamed for Wales' defeat. England scored 17 unanswered points during Jones' time off the pitch.
Prop Gethin Jenkins is named as a replacement even though he is struggling to overcome a calf strain, while hooker Matthew Rees remains sidelined with a groin injury.
Gatland said of his selection reasoning: "Jonathan (Thomas) brings over 50 caps of experience to the tight five and offers us some extra mobility around the field.
"Leigh (Halfpenny) is a recognised right wing who offers us an extra kicking option and his return to full fitness after limited training in the run-up to the England game allows his selection."
