Sheriffe makes Bradford switch
Rikki Sheriffe has signed for Bradford Bulls after putting his signature on a two-year deal. The Harlequins RL wingerk is returning to his hometown club and will join his younger brother, Jode, who is a promising reserve player at the Grattan Stadium. And Sheriffe says there was no choice to be made once he heard Bradford were interested in him.
"There were a couple of other top six sides interested and Quins wanted to keep me but I was only ever interested in coming to Bradford," said Sheriffe.
"There was no other choice for me once I knew they were interested in me.
"I'm born and bred Bradford and as a kid I always wanted to go on and play for the Bulls. It's a brilliant chance for me and now I just can't wait for it all to start. It's a great time for me and my family".
And Bradford coach Steve McNamara is delighted with the new addition to his squad.
"He's not the finished product yet but is an excellent dummy half runner which is something we have been short of this year and when you look at his stats he has some of the best offensive numbers around," he said.
"He's a Bradford lad who is very keen to get back up north and I'm looking forward to working with him.
"I thought Rikki was outstanding in the first half of the year and was on the verge of an England call-up and only injury prevented that but he certainly has the potential to play internationally."
