Huddersfield Giants back-row forward Danny Kirmond has spoke of his pleasure at returning to the club after spending the majority of the campaign with Super League rivals Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.
The 24-year-old made the temporary move to Belle Vue as a makeweight in the deal that saw Danny Brough switch to the Galpharm Stadium and coach Nathan Brown has called him back with Wakefield's season finishing on Sunday, a move which Kirmond is delighted with.
"It's amazing how fast all this has happened," he said.
"On Sunday morning, I was expecting to turn up for training at Wakefield the following day and get ready to play at Salford.
"But by the afternoon, I'd had a call from Browny to say he wanted me back at training at Huddersfield, and within a couple of days of that I'd been told I'd be going to France.
"And I was delighted about that. I'd obviously come back to training and made the right sort of impression, so now I'm hoping I get the nod to play.
"It's been a pretty tough year at Wakefield - we've suffered some bad defeats, including the one at Huddersfield the other month, but now I'm back here and there's a chance I could be playing in the play-offs. There aren't many players who can say that."
