New Crusaders signing Gareth Thomas has been tipped to impress by his team-mates, after making the switch from Rugby Union to League at the start of the month.
The 35-year-old joined Brian Noble's Super League outfit from Cardiff Blues and, after making over 100 appearances for Wales and captaining British Lions, he is ready to make his bow on Friday evening.
Crusaders face Catalans Dragons at Racecourse Ground and Thomas has received warm backing from captain Ryan O'Hara and Lincoln Withers.
"He's been doing well," O'Hara said.
"He has been learning the game slowly, but he has got some skills and his footwork is amazing. Some of the stuff he's done in training has been unbelievable."
Withers added: "He's had over a week of rugby league training under his belt and he looks really good.
"Obviously it is going to take time, but you don't play 100 international games for your country if you're not a good player."
