Saturday's Super League game between Catalans Dragons and Castleford Tigers is set to go ahead after the weather in the south of France improved.
There had been concerns that the game would be called off because of heavy snow in Perpignan, but a group of 100 volunteers joined the players and groundstaff to start a major clearing operation on Wednesday.
"We have completely cleared the snow from the field," said Catalans spokesman Yannic Rey. "It is now sunny and the field is perfect. There is no problem, which is a big relief.
"It is important for us to play a home game because four of our first five matches have been away."
