Dyer confident over Crusaders' chances
Celtic Crusaders' winger Luke Dyer is confident the team can be a force in the Engage Super League, despite their opening day 28-6 defeat to Leeds Rhinos. The Bridgend-based side recovered from a half-time 22-0 deficit to produce a battling second-half display, causing plenty of problems for the current champions. The club has been fast-tracked into Super League after just three years of existence and Dyer had the distinction of scoring their first try.
"I'm very pleased with the boys," he said.
"It was our first game, we didn't even have a friendly, and a third of our squad only got here five days ago so there's really good things to come. It really couldn't have been more difficult.
"We've not trained properly because of the snow and we've played against the Grand Final winners who have had three friendlies so we're really happy."
