Ever wondered where you were going wrong on the dance floor? The guys in the office at sport.co.uk certainly have been…but alas our prayers (and a whole lot more) have been answered in the form of beautiful Charlotte Stevens. Not only is she an international dance choreographer, aspiring popstar and the hottest internet entrepreneur we’ve ever had the pleasure of chatting with, she’s also full of sage advice. Enjoy.

Hi Charlotte, first things first, congratulations! How does it feel to be sport.co.uk ‘Hot Babe of the Week’?

It’s really cool thanks.

So I understand you’re a pop star and dance choreographer. How did you get into that?

I went to a performing arts college to train in dance and when I left I worked with loads of different pop artists and achieved a lot of goals really quickly; I had the chance to do stuff like Top Of The Pops which was a laugh and great fun. I then moved into choreography which seemed the natural next step for a dancer before setting up the Rudeye Dance Agency. Things since then have really kicked off, the agency has become very successful and I’ve had the chance to try out singing and recording.

How did your debut single ‘Gimme the Beat’ go down with the public? Do we have a star in the making?

Really well actually, I did the tour last year which was tough work…obviously if you’re an unknown you really need to sell the song and put on a great performance and show. You have to capture the attention of the audience and thankfully I had a great response. Everything leads on from there…it was really cool. At first I was testing the water, but given the great response and the single doing well I’ve decided to focus more on it.

You said you’ve been on tour; have you got any good stories? You always hear bands talking about their shenanigans…

(Laughs) It was just girls! There was nothing really sordid; it was just girls having fun and a laugh on tour. I can’t think of anything…(Laughs)

Who have you danced with that our readers might have heard of?

Geri Halliwell, Robbie Williams, Blue…but because I’ve been singing recently I haven’t danced with many recently. It was very cool at the time.

Can you explain your new project Rudeye Live Online Dance Classes?

This is something that I personally am really excited about. It’s a project which allows me to combine both my Dance Agency and my Music. Rudeye Live is an online project which reaches out to people who want to try out dance and get themselves fit but might be suffering from a lack of confidence.

We hold regular classes at Pineapple Studios in Covent Garden but we had clients asking how they could continue the sessions even when they weren’t able to make it in person. These days people want things on demand…they want access at the touch of a button and the solution we came up with was the Rudeye Live Online dance classes. People who want to get themselves fit and healthy and have fun can take part anytime. We hold classes in the studio which are streamed in real time on our website (on Friday and Saturday evenings) or alternatively they can download the classes onto their computer and do it when it suits them. The aim is that people use it as part of a fitness regime or just for fun.

Most of the guys in the office are absolutely terrible dancers…where do guys go wrong on the dance floor, have you got any tips?

I’d say keep it simple and definitely dance in time…think about the beat! No crazy arms or weird Ricky Gervais moves…girls like guys who can dance in time, you know…guys who are smooth operators like Justin Timberlake.

What about doing the Robot?

(Giggles)…yeah avoid any Peter Crouch robot moves!

How do you chill out after a good workout?

I know it sounds crazy but I really like to go to the gym…but that’s just me. I can clear my mind, work up a good sweat and release any stress. It just makes me feel really good.

What are your ambitions for the future?

The main aim for the future is to develop Rudeye Live so that it’s a real phenomenon. What we really want to do is get teenagers involved and do something to make a difference.

It sounds like you want to be the Jamie Oliver of the dance world…

Well yeah, I’d love to make a difference. You hear so much on the television about knife crime and obesity and I personally think that all these kids need is something to do. I’d love to be able to say that I’ve made a difference. On a personal level I’m looking forward to doing more of my music…

Have you got an album in the pipeline?

I’m recording something at the moment, so definitely watch this space!

We will Charlotte…thanks very much for talking to us at sport.co.uk and good luck for the future!

Rudeye Live provides the World’s first online dance classes. Classes are free for both August and September (normal price £1). For more information see http://www.rudeye.com/live/ and http://www.rudeyestore.com/
