Green Queen Gulbis
Beautiful and a professional golfer - American Natalie Gulbis ticks all the boxes, particularly those of (soon to be married) Sport.co.uk editor Nigel Brown...
At 14, she became the youngest to qualify for an LPGA Tournament (a record she held till the emergence of a 12 year old Michelle Wie), having taken up the sport at the tender age for 4 and winning her first tournament at 7. By 10 she was already breaking par.
Since turning in professional at 18, Natalie has come under a good deal of scrutiny, with many of golf’s purists cynical of the image she portrays; a model first, a golfer second. She posed for FHM in 2004, and later that year released her 2005 calendar (containing pictures of her posing in a bikini) on the eve of the 2004 US Women’s Open.
The US Golf Association banned the calendar from being sold at the event, deeming in inappropriate. “I see myself as an athlete and just try to market myself as a feminine athlete,” said Natalie. In 2005 she starred in the reality show, The Natalie Gulbis Show, which aired on The Golf Channel. Natalie silenced her critics with her first LPGA Tour title, winning the 2007 Evian Masters in France, finally fulfilling the promise of her youth.
When questioned on her ideal man, she revealed "If he has a long drive and he's good looking, that would turn me on.” Now, where’s that driving range?
