Sea The Stars once again had no equal as the John Oxx colt made light work of a high class field in the Tattersalls Millions Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown. The 4-6 favourite, a doubt for the race owing to the testing conditions, proved far too good for challenger Fame and Glory who trailed home two and a half lengths second, ahead of Mastercraftsman in third.

A blistering pace was forced by Set Sail and Rockhampton but veteran jockey Mick Kinane ran a tactically astute race in mid division before asking Sea The Stars to make his move as they entered the home straight.

It was with ease that the 2000 Guineas and Derby winner's turn of foot collared Fame and Glory and he was able to maintain a comfortable lead over the final furlong for a fifth straight Group One success.

The three-year-old superstar is now 7-4 favourite for next month's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe and as short as 2-1 in places for the Breeders' Cup Classic.
