Bohn two ahead in Carolina
Jason Bohn will take a two-shot lead into the third round of the Wachovia Championship in Charlotte, North Carolina after shooting a five-under 67. Bohn is at nine-under, two strokes clear of Arthur Kim. Dudley Hart, George McNeill and 2006 champion Jim Furyk lie a further shot back, all having matched the leader's 67 on Friday.It was a disappointing day for World No. 2 Phil Mickelson, however. After a first-round 68, he fell to seven strokes off the lead with a 74 on a difficult day for low scoring
"There was a low round out there, and I let it slide there in the end," said Mickelson.
"Unfortunately I'll have a lot of work to do on the weekend."
Bohn needed only 26 putts on lightening-quick greens after his recent switch to a longer putter.
"When you're putting well, you don't really care if you hit it to 30 feet, you really don't," Bohn said.
"You're like, 'I can make this.' Then typically you don't hit 30 feet, you start hitting it 12 to 15 feet, and then you start running them in."
That's exactly what Bohn did, notching six birdies to go with a single bogey on his march to the top of the leaderboard.
It was also a good day for Jay Williamson, who scored a hole-in-one at the 6th to help him to four-under par, five off Bohn's lead.
