Carlos Vela will be a big star in world football according to his Arsenal team-mate Manuel Almunia. The Gunners' No1 says the 19-year-old Mexican is as impressive off the pitch as he is on it.Striker Vela, who has scored four goals in 11 international games, showed his potential on his full club debut last month, scoring a hat-trick in the 6-0 thrashing of Sheffield United in the Carling Cup.
"Carlos is a charming guy and possesses innate technical footballing qualities," said Almunia. "But Arsenal is a difficult club for a young man.
"Arsène Wenger provides plenty of opportunities, but the young players are getting less and less.
"But Carlos is a great fighter, joyful and optimistic, and has the characteristics to succeed."
