Stoke boss Tony Pulis wants to bolster his squad by signing least another four players before the transfer window shuts.

Pulis has signed former Tottenham and England defender Jonathan Woodgate on a one-year deal this summer but is anxious that his side continue to build on what they have already achieved in the Premier League over the last few seasons.

Juventus midfielder Mo Sissoko is being linked with a move to the Britannia Stadium and Pulis's assistant David Kemp confirmed the manager has some ambitious plans ahead of the start of the new campaign.

Speaking after Stoke's goalless draw in their pre-season friendly at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, Kemp said: "Since coming up from the Championship, our aim has been to improve each season.

"The manager is working very hard to bring in new players and reinforce the squad before the season starts and he's looking to make four or new signings."
