Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp believes Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tom Huddlestone should be involved with England this week.
The Spurs star has begun the season in good form but was one of the surpise omissions from Fabio Capello’s England squad for the upcoming European qualifiers with Bulgaria and Switzerland.
Redknapp suggests many of England’s problems at the World Cup finals stemmed from them not retaining the ball well enough and the former England international believes the White Hart Lane playmaker is excellent at keeping possession.
Redknapp told skysports.com: “Personally I would have liked to have seen Tom Huddlestone given a go.
“I have seen every Spurs game this season and although he is not the most mobile, the one thing you have to do is keep possession and Huddlestone is as good a passer as we've got.”
