Milan confirm Huntelaar-Ibrahimovic swap deal negotiations
AC Milan have confirmed that they are willing to allow Klaas-Jan Huntelaar to swap the San Siro for the Nou Camp as part of a deal luring Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic back to Italy.
News of the possible move will come as a disappointment to Premier League suitors with Tottenham Hotspur thought to have been keeping tabs on the possibility of snapping up Huntelaar on loan while Manchester City have publically stated their desire to sign Ibrahimovic.
The Rossoneri have been chasing the signature of the former Ajax, Juventus and Inter Milan star throughout the summer with vice-president Adriao Galliani valiantly attempting to seal a deal before the transfer window closes next week.
Speaking about the latest developments regarding negotiations between the boards of both Barca and Milan, Galliani is quoted by ESPN as saying:
"It's a long road ahead, I'd say the chances of Milan signing Ibrahimovic are 50%. We're discussing Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and personal terms.
"At this point the two clubs are working towards a definitive sale. There will be no loan deal."
"I would like to make it clear that Marco Borriello is not for sale, but we are negotiating over Huntelaar. Up until now I have not had direct contact with the player. I'm going to see him now."
With the deal rated 50:50 Galliani also confirmed that Brazilian attacking midfielder Robinho was still on the San Siro radar and could prove a positive alternative option should the Ibrahimovic negotiations flounder.
"Robinho is the alternative to Ibrahimovic, but we want the Swedish striker,” he told Sky Italia.
