Reigning Premier League champions Chelsea take on Stoke City at Stamford Bridge and the unrelenting Londoners will be out to make it three wins from three.

Despite a disappointing pre-season campaign, Carlo Ancelotti's side have allayed any fears by landing back-to-back 6-0 victories over West Bromwich Albion and Wigan Athletic respectively.

The Blues have hit top gear straight away and, with goals coming from likely lads Didier Drogba, Florent Malouda, Frank Lampard, Nicolas Anelka and Salomon Kalou, things look rosy once again.

Peter Cech, Branislav Ivanovic, Ashley Cole, John Terry and Alex have looked solid in defence, while Michael Essien's return to the side has proved a major positive for Ancelotti and, alongside John Obi Mikel and Lampard, Chelsea could take some beating this term.

On the contrary, Stoke have been hit with two successive defeats, both in the form of 2-1 setbacks at Wolverhampton Wanderers and at home to Tottenham Hotspur.

They will need the likes of Ryan Shawcross, Robert Huth, Abdoulaye Faye and Dean Whitehead to be at their industrious and steely best if they are to travel back to the Midlands with a profitable result.

On the injury front for Chelsea, Portugal full-back Jose Bosingwa is homing in on a return to fitness, but the weekend fixture is likely to come soon.

Towering front man Kenwyne Jones could feature for the visitors after injuring his knee in the opening day game at Wolverhampton Wanderers, but Mamady Sidibe, who ruptured his Achilles tendon in last weekend's clash with Tottenham Hotspur, is out for the season.

Liam Lawrence (groin) is also unlikely to figure.

In the most recent meeting between the two sides, at Stamford Bridge in April, Chelsea dished up a scintillating 7-0 hammering t return to the top of the table.

Kalou smashed in his his first Chelsea hat-trick, Lampard was at the double and there were goals for youngster Daniel Sturridge and Malouda in the waltz.

At the Britannia Stadium in September, the Potters grabbed a shock lead through Faye's header on the half-hour mark only for Drogba to tie things up on the stroke of half time.

With time running out, Malouda broke Stoke with a injury time drive to seal the points.
