EXCLUSIVE: Giovinco in Arsenal come and get me plea
Sport.co.uk understands that Juventus winger Sebastian Giovinco has his heart set on a move to Arsenal with La Vecchia Signora looking to offload the talented attacking midfielder this summer.
The 23-year-old endured a miserable time with injury last season, playing just 19 games for the Serie A giants however he is widely considered one of the country’s brightest young talents and reports in recent weeks have linked Arsene Wenger with a cut-price bid for the playmaker dubbed the “atomic ant” because of his short stature and technical ability.
The Bianconeri midfielder has been linked with a number of Italian sides including Genoa, Bari and Parma, however according to the player’s agent Luca Pasqualin Giovinco is eager to seal a summer switch to the Emirates stadium.
Pasqualin told Sport.co.uk in an exclusive interview:
“We have spoken to four teams in Italy regarding Giovinco. I have heard of contact in-directly regarding Arsenal, but I have not received direct contact from the club. We are waiting to see who is formally interested as he will definitely 100% be leaving Juventus this summer.
“I think there are also sides in Italy and Spain who are interested, so we are looking to find a solution for Giovinco in the next ten days. If the interest of Arsenal is concrete, Giovinco would be interested as Arsenal is one of the top clubs in Europe. If I hear of something directly from Arsene Wenger or a representative from Arsenal we would put all our attention onto the situation.”
