Sven Goran-Eriksson and footballer performance database Castrol have unveiled a Madame Tussauds waxwork model of the world’s Ultimate Performing Player, which comprises physical features of some of football’s biggest stars…including Stoke City midfielder Rory Delap!

Delap’s notorious long throw-ins have helped the Potters turn the Britannia Stadium into a fortress since returning to the top flight under Tony Pulis and he may now be referred to as Stoke City’s ‘Delap of honour’ after being hypothetically amputated for this Frankenstein’s footballer alongside the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Thierry Henry.

Needless to stay, it is Delap’s arms that have landed the Stoke City man a place amongst the world’s elite and those arms will come in handy when he climbs Mount Kilimanjaro later this month alongside Pulis and celebrity Potters fan Nick Hancock in a money-raising exercise for the Donna Louise Children’s Hospice Trust. The Ultimate Performing Player consists, according to Castrol, of the following:

The height of Peter Crouch

The hair of Carlos Puyol

The eyes of Xavi Hernandez

The chin of Paulo Maldini

The chest of Michael Ballack

The arms of Rory Delap

The hands of Julio Cesar

The legs of Cristiano Ronaldo

The left foot of Lionel Messi

The right foot of Thierry Henry
