Silva set to join Everton?
Everton have reportedly agreed a deal to bring 19 year-old Portuguese striker Joao Silva to Goodison Park this summer as David Moyes seeks to bolster his squad’s attacking options.
The Toffees are said to have agreed a £650,000 deal with Portuguese Second Division club Aves, for whom Silva has top-scored this season with 14 goals, and Moyes hopes that the youngster will provide adequate backup for Everton's main hit men Louis Saha and Yakubu Aiyegbeni.
With James Vaughan still plagued by injuries and Victor Anichebe being groomed to play on the right-hand side, Moyes wants extra competition to keep the talented but streaky Yakubu and Saha on their toes and Silva is believed to have been brought to the Scot’s attention by former Everton and Portugal left-back Nuno Valente.
The Sun quotes Silva as saying: "I am very happy Everton like me. It's a dream for anyone to play in the Premier League.
"Everton are a big club and this is a big jump for me. But I feel it's the right move."
