Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has sprained his ankle and will miss two to four weeks according to Sky Sports News.

The Manchester United talisman limped off at the end of their 2-1 defeat to Bayern Munich and there were fears the 24-year-old may have sustained ligament damage meaning he could have missed the World Cup.

Rooney will miss Manchester United’s upcoming games against Premier League rivals Chelsea FC and the Champions League home leg against Bayern Munich at the very least. The Old Trafford hero could also be missing for their away trips to Blackburn and Manchester City.
