Chelsea, Manchester City, and Manchester United will all reportedly try and sign Valencia striker David Villa in the summer for £35 million. The Premier League rivals face stiff competition from Real Madrid and Barcelona, but the Spanish international looks almost certain to leave the Mestalla. (The Sun)

Championship leaders Newcastle United have been thrown into turmoil after reports claim captain Steven Taylor had his jaw broken during a fight with an unnamed teammate. The Mail claim the player is striker Andy Carroll, who reportedly was furious after discovering text messages from his ex-girlfriend on Taylor’s phone. The unsavoury incident allegedly left both players needing surgery. The story has echoes of the John Terry and Wayne Bridge saga at Chelsea FC. (Daily Mail)

Chelsea FC’s nail biting pursuit of the Premier League title alongside Manchester United and Arsenal FC took a blow after it emerged their right-back Branislav Ivanovic has been ruled out for a month. The player joins the club’s first choice right-back Jose Bosingwa on the sidelines. (Daily Mail)
