The top scorer in Portugal’s second division has reportedly signed an agreement to move to Everton at the end of the season, according to local press.

Joao Silva, who is contracted to Deportivo das Ave until 2013, has scored 11 goals this season and reportedly roused interest across Europe with his exploits in front of goal this term. It is now being reported in his homeland that the 19-year-old striker has been the subject of an approach from Everton, with the Premier League club looking to seal a €700,000 deal in the summer.

The Portuguese under-20 international reacted to the news about Everton’s reported interest yesterday, reflecting:

“I honestly don’t know anything, but Everton is a great club. It would be good for me. For now, I just want to concentrate on Aves. We are in a good position and I want to finish the season.”

Portuguese giants Porto are also thought to have registered interest in Silva, while Braga, Guimaraes and Ncional are also thought to have been keeping tabs on the youngster.

It was reported earlier in the season that the Toffees had also secured an agreement with Leeds United to sign Jermaine Beckford at the end of the season. Should either or both young strikers complete moves to Goodison Park they could represent something of a coup for David Moyes with the esteemed coach once again working his magic in the transfer market despite limited funds.

'You are wrong, they are in "Liga Vitalis", it's the second major league in Portugal. In fact, they can still promote to the first league "Liga Sagres". '

'João Silva has 11 goals, 4 with is head and 7 with foot. He scored 8 goals in the last 8 matches. I's international under-20, very tall, moves well, runs a lot. he doesn't have any goal of penalty or freekick, so he is an excelent striker, Porto, Braga, Nacional, Sporting and Corunha from Spain where after him.
