Hull City boss Phil Brown has issued an apology after Jimmy Bullard and Nick Barmby were involved in a public bust-up on Monday.
The two players confronted each other as the Tigers squad warmed down in a training session just 24 hours after their 5-1 thrashing at Everton.
Brown did not see the incident, which occurred at Hessle foreshore and was seen by members of a local Women's Institute group, before it was reported by The Sun on Friday morning.
The City boss admitted: "This incident was unsavoury and very unfortunate. But the players have settled their differences.
"It was back to normal at training on Tuesday. They shook hands and got on with it. It's a sign for me that they care and I'm looking forward to the responses of the players in question."
