Manchester United have had some pretty horrible kits during the empirical reign of Sir Alex Ferguson - a crime not unique to the Red Devils, admittedly, given the collective loss of plot apparently suffered by kit designers across the country at the beginning of the 1980s. MANCHESTER UNITED’S WORST: 1993-1994 goalkeeper’s kit

United won the domestic double that season but, on the down side, Messrs Schmeichel, Walsh and Sealey had to spend the year looking like the victims of a hit and run wallpapering attack. Tron? Star Wars battle scene? A portal to another time or dimension? Sport.co.uk thoroughly approves, but could only offer a vague explanation as to why. Trippy, man.
MANCHESTER UNITED’S MOST INFAMOUS: 1995-1996 grey away shirt

Sir Alex ordered his players to change into a different kit at half-time as they trailed Southampton 3-0 at half-time, reasoning that the kit rendered them almost invisible. It was never worn again.
