The Brazilian midfielder was briefly crowned the most expensive player in football transfer history when he made the move from Serie A to La Liga in a deal worth £56 million. Signed alongside Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo the 27-year-old has formed the basis of another era of ‘galactico’ signings at the Bernabeu.
However, having struggled with fitness issues since his summer arrival rumours have abounded in the Spanish press that the Rossoneri completed the sale while hiding the true facts surrounding his injury history.
Stressing that the speculation was completely unfounded, Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani stated:
"It's absurd," he said.
"Last season Kaka played 31 games in the Italian league and was a virtual ever-present.
"I don't like the suggestion that we gave Real Madrid an injured player."
