Arshavin: Sol is the hard man, Cesc is slow, and we enjoy naked dancing
Arsenal forward Andrey Arshavin has told Soccer AM on Sky Sports that the best trainer at the club is Manuel Almunia, while returning veteran Sol Campbell is the hard man of the squad, and that his teammates regularly have naked dancing in the dressing-room.
Arshavin has made an instant impact since signing for Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal at the end of last year’s January transfer window scoring four goals at Anfield and endearing himself to the club's Emirates faithful with outspoken and humorous views on women drivers, parking problems, bank accounts, and the UK tax hike.
Arsenal forward Arshavin answered a series of questions on his teammates. Sport.co.uk picked out their favourites from the interview. But if you want to watch the interview in full check out the YouTube video at the end of the article.
Who is the best trainer?
“I think it is Almunia. All of our goalkeepers do a lot of extra jobs before, and after training. “
Who is the hard man?
“Sol Campbell. I am 60. But he is like 120. He double (like) me.”
Who is the slowest?
“I (only) joke on Cesc. Because when I give him the ball and he does not catch it, I always say 'hey, you are too slow.' Probably he is not. But I will say he is.“
Who is the funniest?
“Eboue. Because if you see him every morning he is always smiling, he always has energy to do something. He never stops.”
Who is the smartest?
“Mikael Silvestre. He looks smart and clever.”
The best initation?
“Everyone must sing. But before last game we were joking because Sol Campbell came back, and we asked him to get up on a chair, but he didn’t do it.”
Who is the best dancer?
“Eboue or Sagna. We often do dancing in the dressing room, most of all we do it naked.
And who exactly is the longest in the showers?
“We have got someone. But I don’t want to say. Oh, I should say? Jack Wilshere.”
