Grant: As long as I am here I will do my best
Avram Grant insists that he will continue to help Portsmouth’s fight against relegation despite the turbulent off-field financial problems which have forced the club to sell several more of their top stars.
With the club failing to pay its players on time and rumours that the club could go bust, the Israeli tactician stopped short of pledging his long-term future to the Fratton Park outfit.
“I am here with the team and as long as I am here I will do my best,” said Grant.
“My future is not the issue. The issue is the club, team and fans. That is more important and we need to do things better off the pitch and things will look different.
“As long as we are here, we will do our best," he added. "When I came here, we said that we would keep with the same squad and maybe add players. Now the financial situation has changed.
"That has made some problems for us. Before, we were living day to day. Now we are living hour to hour.”
