Sport.co.uk takes a look at three Bolton Wanderers players who could go on to cement legendary status amongst the Reebok faithful…
Ivan Klasnic
At 29 years-old, the Croatian-German centre-forward may not be a burgeoning talent but his knack for goals and resilience in fighting back from not one but two kidney transplants are cultivating a ‘cult hero’ status which, with a few more seasons and a bundle more goals, could upgrade to ‘legend’.
Lee Chung-Yong
The 21 year-old South Korean winger has endeared himself to Bolton fans greatly since his summer transfer from FC Seoul. His pace, dribbling and, on occasion, shooting mark him out as a proper old school winger and he could thrive in an attacking Owen Coyle setup.
Gary Cahill
Given the “current economic climate”, it is looking increasingly unlikely that any club will weigh in with a £20m bid for the 24 year-old centre-back. Despite Bolton’s struggles, Cahill has continued the form which put him into the England reckoning last season and, with the big boys racking up debts as if they sadistically enjoyed it, Coyle and the fans can feel more and more confident about keeping their prized asset.
Do you agree with the suggestions above? Who is your tip for legendary status at the Reebok? Do you think Owen Coyle was the right choice? What do you see as the club’s realistic short-term goals?
