West Ham manager Gianfranco Zola has reiterated his belief that the club can hold onto their best players despite the uncertain financial climate surrounding Upton Park. A host of Premier League clubs have been linked with a number of the diminutive Italian’s best players, most notably Matthew Upson, Scot Parker and Robert Green. Manchester City, Tottenham, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Sunderland have all been mentioned as potential suitors of Matthew Upson, while Robert Green has reportedly been sounded out by Arsenal, yet Zola believes thus far no official offers have been made for any of his players including Parker.
The West Ham boss told a press conference: “I know I have good players in my team and it is normal that teams are looking for them. I am confident we can keep our best players,”
“I don't think we have had any enquiries so far. I haven't been told so. I am confident I can keep them here.”
“I don't deal with these things (transfers). I am just dealing with the players we have and I try to make them happy to stay here.”
