Sport.co.uk understands the chase for Galatasaray defender Cetin Servet is hotting up after the player's agent admitted his client could leave the Turkish giant for around £!0 million. The 28-year-old, who has a variety of eccentric nicknames, including 'Terminator,' 'Bionic Servet,' and 'Ayibogan,' which means 'Man who could choke a bear,' also revealed on Turkish television last month that he would be willing to leave the Istanbul outfit if they benefited suitably from any such transfer. North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have been monitoring the tough tackling centre back, while Spanish radio station Cadena SER claim that Barcelona have also entered the race. The player's agent also suggested Manchester United and Liverpool were in the hunt for the international. Sport.co.uk spoke exclusively to the player's agent Mithat Halis who confirmed that depsite no official contact, his client was excited by the rumours.

Mithat Halis told Sport.co.uk:

“I have heard the rumours, but there is no official contact with myself or the club (Galatasaray). And there has been no contact from either Arsenal or Tottenham Hotspur regarding Cetin. I think that both clubs have sent scouts to watch the player, as have a large number of top European clubs.

“Yes, Cetin is excited by the rumours because he is a very good candidate for the clubs in question. I am not 100% if he will leave yet but he is a candidate, a good candidate. I think Tottenham have problems in that area, as do Arsenal and Manchester United. Cetin is a good candidate for these clubs because he is a strong player and they need strength. He is a similar type of player to Nemaja Vidic, but stronger.

“I think an offer of £10 million is enough. That would not be a problem for the club.”

Speaking to Lig TV Servet said:

“I have said this before and am saying it again: If my club Galatasaray is going to gain from my transfer and if our chairman gives his blessing to this deal, then I am ready to go."

Reports in the summer suggested Servet had signed for French Ligue 1 side Marseille, and the big defender admitted things were handled poorly:

“I made a mistake. From now there will be no announcement from me or any other person until a transfer agreement has been signed, sealed and delivered.”
