Bolton Wanderers manager Gary Megson is refusing to comment on who he is looking to bring to the Reebok Stadium in the January transfer window.

Manchester City striker Benjani and Blackpool midfielder Charlie Adam have both been linked with the Trotters, but Megson is more interested in dealing with his current pool of players.

Saturday's 1-1 draw at Fulham at least put an end to Bolton's three-match losing run, but the point was not enough to lift Megson's side out of the bottom three.

The Wanderers boss said: "We can't dictate what will happen in January.

"It's the most difficult window of all, being so short and right in the middle of the season. But we're not at that point. We've got bigger issues, which is getting results to get ourselves out of the position we're in.

"It's the way the Premier League is. There's always been four clubs that you can predict where they'd finish, now that's six as a minimum.

"You have to get on with it. You have to try and do a little bit better than is expected at your particular football club. But you can't look elsewhere at someone who has spent £300million on their squad and then expect to be in the same place. You won't be.

"It's getting harder and harder because of the squads and the players the big clubs have got. Real Madrid were one of the best clubs in the world last year, yet they come to Liverpool and get an absolute tonking. That's what we're playing against most weeks."
