Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh has again claimed he wants to move to the Premier league, and suggested he could do so as early as the January transfer window. The 25-year-old striker was heavily linked with Arsenal, West Ham and Tottenham during the summer, and recent reports claim both Manchester United and Sunderland are also monitoring the player’s progress at the Ligue One side.

Chamakh told L'Equipe: “My future? I don't know. It is up to me.”

“At the club, the door is open. When I make my decision, I will reply yes or no. I am thinking about it at present.”

“I just want to achieve a great season with Bordeaux, maybe (then) to sign (for a club) in the Premier League.”

“However it would be fine (moving in January for a fee) so everyone could take advantage of the transfer.”

Although he reiterated his desire to leave the club, the Moroccan international claimed he was loving life at the French club, and relishing their progress in the Champions League.

He added: “Life is beautiful in the Bordeaux changing room. If we can avoid Barcelona and Inter Milan in the Champions League draw, we could reach the quarter-final.”

“It would be fantastic for a club like Bordeaux to be in the European top eight, and then play a great team.”
